The Beginning of the Refined Definitions




The Celestial Monochord
With each subsequent definition, The School of the Transfer of Energy becomes more local and acute in it's scope and embodiment. Threads and tendrils remain stretched into the broader Universal or Cosmic School, similar to the string of the Celestial Monochord which stretches from the earth throughout the heavens.
The First Refined Definition
This first definition and explanation of the brotherhood of practitioners is from the early archives of The School of the Transfer of Energy around 2001.
"This is my personal definition of The School of the Transfer of Energy. It is only a superfluos label for my life and idealism and art. It is specified from the Universal School by its subtitles and its form of work: its call.
Each label narrows down the practitioners of The School as the wrangling over details ensues, but the brotherhood is re-established in the retreat to common ground. [The brotherhood is even more strengthened through the efforts to understand, at least, the other practitioners' subtitles.] With each label removed membership increases, but quality suffers through the compromise. I will tell you my subtitles so that you might understand where I am. It will aid in describing the art; and the heart."

Introduction to the School of the Transfer of Energy

Definition #1.
The Universal School of the Transfer of Energy: ...is a purposefully vague (as in a large harvesting basket) and superfluous device to aid in the identification, communication and general awareness of the sources and methods of every form of energy as it is translated and transfered from one form to another. This includes every possible object and every possible life. Here, in the "Universal School", energy is used in the broadest possible sense, encompassing interpretations of both good and evil, positive and negative. Here are some examples for the benefit of understanding: esperiences such as those aquired and exacted through daily living, photosynthesis and the food chain, storytelling, violence, rain, birth, the brushing of teeth, the writing of novels, salivating, walking, etc and etc... The list of examples is seemingly eternal. In this definition, The Universal School, is a method of seeing life and a label for that which is perpetually occuring. The Universal School is almost a waste of time, and exists only as a father context for the more local and precise School of the Transfer of Energy as it exists today.

The Handbook of the Rickety Circus




These are the arranged papers belonging to The School of the Transfer of Energy. The mutability of the institution is assumed and expected. The subtext of the school is the Institute of Signs and Levers as well as the Society for Craftsmen and Farmers, and finally the Heart of the Rickety Circus.
